THE JOURNEY TO NOW
"In my thirty-five years of apparel industry experience, every step of my journey has been a deliberate stride towards the creation of the ULANDO OSLER brand. My career in fashion started with a position in retail sales, where I was introduced to the importance of branding and how marketing influenced consumers perception of value. My retail career culminated in a position with former upscale Chicago retailer Bonwit Teller.
Inspired by my long-held aspirations to become a professional designer, I enrolled in The School of the Art Institute of Chicago's Fashion Design program, where my focus shifted to learning the craft of garment making. S.A.I C was pivotal in the development and expansion of my artistic vision. After graduation, my academic success led to an acceptance into Cornell University’s Department of Textiles and Apparel graduate program.
After completion of my studies where I successfully obtained my masters, I relocated to New York to embark on a career in fashion. My design career has afforded me opportunities to work on deverse design teams with industry notables such as Calvin Klein, Henry Grethel, House of Dereon, John Bartlett for Liz Claiborne, and Nick Graham, to name a few. I believe the accumulation of experiences have equipped me with the confidence of vision and technical insight, required to lead the ULANDO OSLER brand into an era of growth and distinction."
